Take Back Australia

In 1965 when as a new Immigrant my Dad told his employer to shove his job, it was because he discovered the firm was ripping off new Immigrants, it happened 6-8 weeks out from Christmas, and there were not a lot of jobs around.  My father went Cherry Picking for 4 weeks, living away, so they could afford to give their children Christmas. My Dad lost 10kgs in that 4 weeks, because he was working as hard as he could and saving as much as he could for when he returned home.  These were not easy times, but the people were made tougher, their family always came first, and he preferred this than to work with someone who was ripping off New Australians.  ( It is from this last piece of hard headedness I see myself in my Dad, I will never back down from my principals no matter what )

The difference between our Generations though is we aren’t as tough as people back then, we expect more from our Government to help people in Australia who are in trouble.  And yet…….

What we have, our Grandparents and parents would never have believed possible here.  They could never have imagined we would be held captive as a Nation, under the sickle of an almost Communist Government that exercises a totalitarian rule. Under this Government they make it a crime to not send your child to school, that make it a crime to smack your child, that make having fun at school more a memory than reality, and the crammed learning and nightly home work is the important aspect of school life according to them, however, when a family cannot afford to pay Public school fees, how do they help them…. They prosecute them.

Had my father been alive today, he would have been ashamed of what Australia is becoming, he loved Australia, and would defend Australia against anyone. He went on to make a good living for the family, he was involved with the construction of the Hydro Electric Scheme, he was a District Housing Officer in Dubbo,  and he went back to Commercial real estate in South Australia in a firm that was not ripping people off.

I bring him up to make you think of your Parents or Grand parents and all they went through.  We can only live in the knowledge we are making them proud because we aren’t willing to sit on our hands and accept what this Government is doing to us, we aren’t prepared to become complacent because nothing has changed.  And that each of us is able to stand up and say, we made sure this Government heard the people’s voices at every possibility, and still they chose to ignore us, so when the next election does come we will be affording this Government the same courtesy they have extended to the Australian people, and we will not listen to their voices while watching them be swept aside for their arrogance and failure to respect the Australian Democracy which we will embrace yet again with vigour.

This blog may appear self absorbent, however, each of us should consider our circumstances and consider now what they will be willing to do to ensure the destruction of the present Government.

I already spend a lot of time fighting against this Government, but as the election becomes visible I will be attending, organising and blogging at every opportunity and using every moment of my spare time to ensure this becomes a clearer message then either Keneally got in NSW or Bligh got in Queensland.  We will win, and we must always remember this time, as we must make sure Australia realises just how close it became to losing something we hold precious, our Democratic Society.
